Unique Support for Families Bereaved by Homicide
Families linked to Through Unity have all lost someone in these circumstances. They want to reach out and support others who find themselves in a nightmare that they feel that no one truly understands.
We offer a befriending service with trained family volunteers ready to offer help and walk alongside those needing someone to listen. We can also assist you in finding a higher level of expert help if you need it and connect you to other networks and organisations providing services for the bereaved. And if we do that, we will still be there for you and continue to keep in touch.
Thankfully, few of us will ever know the agonising grief and anguish of losing someone we love through violent crime. It is beyond comprehension - unless you have been through it yourself.
You can hear some of the befrienders on video - ordinary people whose lives were turned upside down in one horrific instant. They have found ways of surviving their darkest hours. Together we will do whatever we can to help you find your way to survive.
